A winning performance

About the most middle-aged thing you can do is “take a fall”. Mere moments after my 54th birthday, which qualifies me to be at the upper end of “middle age” I “took” one. It was as spectacular as it was unexpected but lying here in my recuperative bed where I’m forced to rest for a full 21 days post-surgery, I can’t help but reflect on my performance.
