LETTER OF THE WEEK

Fear and Dreams

I want to say thank you to AP for bringing Arteh Odjidja and his The Stranger Series: Fear and Dreams project to my attention in June. As a result of your article I did something I have never done before, chipped in to help crowdfund his book.

Never having crowdfunded anything before, the cynic in me wondered if that was the last I would hear of it. How wrong I was. I received updates as the book slowly progressed, and yesterday it finally arrived. My goodness, it is a powerful and moving piece of work, both text and images.

The book itself is beautifully designed, printed and bound, and I could not be more pleased to ownshines a much-needed light on the suffering, courage and huge contribution that immigrants bring (and always have done) to our nation.
