VERDICT HONDA replaced a rather dreary-looking model with something quite funky when it brought out the latest HR-V. It looks equally cool in the cabin, and it comes with a similar ‘Magic Seat’ rear bench to the Jazz we mentioned earlier (see page 42), delivering more interior flexibility.
There’s plenty of space inside for passengers, but the boot capacity trails some of the Honda’s competitors. The 1.5-litre hybrid powertrain is the only engine available and it’s very economical, but can be quite noisy at full throttle thanks to the use of a CVT automatic gearbox.
