She is one of the most enduring, provocative and prolific artists of our time, one who has smashed taboos and pushed frontiers in her performances and personal life. And she’s not about to slow down.
Last week, Madonna, 64, announced a global tour to celebrate 40 phenomenal years at the top of her game, beginning in July in Vancouver and finishing in Amsterdam in December, via four nights at London’s O2 in October. Three of those dates were added last week following huge demand for tickets in a nation where the star has always been popular, notching up 13 UK No. 1 singles – a record for a female artist.
Billed as showcasing her artistic journey across four decades and paying respect to her native New York, the Celebration tour, her 12th, comes at a good time.
“I’m gathering ideas, getting inspired, hanging out with creative people, watching films, seeing art, listening to music,” the Material Girl told Italian. “I am excited to explore as many songs as possible to give my fans the show they have been waiting for.”
