John Caple is a British painter who was raised in a rural community in the Mendip Hills in Somerset, England. Caple’s paintings are inspired by family stories and folk narratives of the Mendip community – generations of land workers who shared a close connection to nature. Caple gleans inspiration from poets and writers who also shared his love for rural England, including Samuel Taylor Coleridge, John Keats, and Emily Dickinson.
