Jo Hammond, 40, from Hertfordshire
Lying in bed, I had a sudden itch on my left boob.
Reaching over to give it a scratch, I felt something a little strange.
Is that a lump? I thought to myself back in June 2020.
Feeling around, whatever it was certainly caught my attention.
I was 38, but my aunt had died from breast cancer when I was 15 and my mum, Eve, had also had it.
Thankfully, after a full mastectomy and chemo, my mum was fine.
However, with my family history, feeling a lump on my breast sparked my attention.
Despite what my mum and aunt had been through, I’d never actually checked my breasts, but I knew this felt different.
And my husband Darren agreed.
