at the famous Char Chinar, an island sitting on the tranquil Dal trees on four corners (and hence the name, which literally translates to ‘four Chinar’). These deciduous trees are important symbols of the region and can be found throughout the valley, hillsides, and cities. In the summer months, the trees’ width and thick leaves provide ample shade and coolness. Come autumn, and the deep greens pave way for mesmerising blood red, amber, and yellow hues.
