Earthly WONDERS

Boucheron Carte Blanche Ailleurs

Every summer, Boucheron presents its Carte Blanche high jewellery collection, which pushes creativity to the final frontiers. This season, the maison turns our attention not to any one specific location but quite simply, elsewhere. Austerely named Ailleurs, which is French for ‘elsewhere’, the collection transports us into an imaginative realm that resembles our beautiful planet closely enough, but is also chock-full of wonderful surprises and unexpected combinations. Diamonds meet pebbles, white gold is set on burnt wood, rattan is woven as a neck piece, and aluminium resembles lush green leaves in Boucheron’s creative vision for Ailleurs.

Exploring the dynamic contrasts between raw natural materials and traditional precious ones, Boucheron creative director Claire Choisne mentally sojourns across vast deserts and lush rainforests, and from mountains to oceans. This is perhaps what many of us did during the pandemic years when travel was restricted. Ruled by a desire to reveal the beauty and poetry of nature, she imagined five worlds, each rooted in one earthly element: sand, leaf, earth, pebble and volcano.
