DARE TO dream

the spaces that make up our homes are designed to reflect the things we love. For example, it could be a dedicated cool room or wine cellar to keep your wine at an optimal temperature, a mudroom to corral the mess, a home cinema where you can enjoy a movie experience at home, or perhaps a bespoke home library where you can curl up with a good book.

A home fitness room is a popular wish-list room. Fitness expert Sam Wood suggests locating your fitness room where there is a degree of acoustic separation. “For example, I have a home gym above our garage. If you're jumping around there are no reverberations back to the main dwelling, but it's close enough to find a bathroom or grab a drink,” he says. Sam adds that basement garage gyms are also popular. “There's usually plenty of room, but I tend to prefer windows, natural light and an aspect — but it's a personal choice.”
