1 Titonka Hike Pack 32
The Good – After half an hour with this bison on my back (ref: Dances With Wolves), it was an easy call to make. This, I decided, was a comfy carry. The trampoline style back system offered sufficient ventilation without positioning the load too far from the centre of gravity. All the straps were nicely padded, and the cut-out hip fins offered enough support to carry the load. As part of their Green range, it’s partially made from recycled materials (although we don’t know what percentage), and there are all the features you’d expect in a high-end day pack – stretch pockets, hydration sleeve, waist pocket, and a basic rain cover stashed in the lid pocket.
There’s not a lot to complain about here, so anything I do point out will more be a matter of preference (mine is for a sternum strap with the buckle at one side rather than in the middle – less excess webbing flapping around) or downright pickiness (the downward-pulling hip belt tightening is a bit old fashioned).
