IF THERE’S anyone who knows what a difference internet access can make in someone’s life, it’s this dynamic young entrepreneur.
Lorna Mlonzi has been using the web to find information and opportunities for most of her life – and she knows the limits a lack of connectivity can mean to people who are hampered by their circumstances.
She also knows that nearly 80% of the South African population is online, but mostly on their cellphones, buying costly data on a near-daily basis.
Which is why she decided she needed to do something about bringing wireless internet to predominantly poor neighbourhoods. And thanks to Sky Internet SA, the internet service provider (ISP) she set up, that’s exactly what she’s doing.
