WHENEVER the word ‘planning’ is mentioned in earshot of housebuilders, I imagine the Blackadder comedy sketch where Edmund taunts actors with the word ‘Macbeth’, playing on their thespian superstitions around The Scottish Play, forcing them, every time he says “Macbeth”, to indulge in a painful ritual involving nose tweaking.
