Many of us can wake up on a shoot morning, pop our heads outside to look at the weather and almost instantly know whether our birds are going to fly or not. That’s not to say that they won’t fly if the weather conditions are less than perfect, it is just that they do tend to fly better on some days than others.
My preferred days are dry, cold and grey, with a cloudy sky and a light wind. If I open the door and it is one of those mornings, I know the birds are going to go.
