PATTERN NOTES

Afghan is worked in 5 take-along Panels. Popcorns and surface posts “paint” foliage and a simple double crochet/chain pattern creates lacy snowflakes. Reverse single crochet is worked for decorative seaming of Panels and crisp edging. Panels can be sewn together, if desired.

For longer Afghan in multiples of 6 inches, repeat rows 8-17 in Berries Panels, then work same number of rows in Snowflake Panels. Additional yarn may be needed.

Weave in loose ends as work progresses, double-backing in wovenin area to keep ends secure during washing and drying.

Chain-3 at beginning of row counts as first double crochet unless otherwise stated.

Do not remove markers unless otherwise instructed.

Popcorns are not completed with 1 chain to close. Work 1 chain after popcorn as indicated; chains are counted and worked as separate stitches.

When instructed to work in chain, work in any 2 loops of chain, not over chain in chain-1 space.

Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated.

Susan Bates hooks are a classic for a reason. The handles on the Soft Ergonomic line are a smooth charcoal gray. They're soft to the touch and incredibly comfortable to hold. The ergonomic shape also eases the strain crocheting can place on your hand
