2022 was Cecilia Vicuña’s year. In April, the Chilean artist, a majestic, two-sculpture installation in Tate Modern’s Turbine Hall. Talking about the work, which draws on ecology, community, social justice and ancient South American communication systems, Vicuña says, ‘Even though it’s inside the museum, people take it differently, perhaps because it’s an industrial space. Experiencing is the most powerful way of transmission.’
