HILDHOOD IS KELP AND sand, birds and sky, and boats pulled up from the tide. Rainy days are for reading in bed, playing games, cooking, doing craft. If it is fine, we are sent outside to play. There are seasons, weekly library trips, the radio playing in the kitchen, the fire at night and the habit of growing things. Everyone in our cul-de-sac grows things.
