Replacing Energica as the 2023 MotoE championship racer could fast-track Ducati’s path to electrification. The racer looks very much like the petrol-powered Panigale and, while Ducati won’t admit a road version will appear soon, it seems likely this will be the case. You only have to look at Energica to see what can be spun off the back of a multi-year commitment to MotoE. While not an official Ducati project, the retro electric Ducati 860-E Concept has stirred interest and the factory has not attempted to distance itself from the boffins at work here.
