Test: Korg SQ-64 V2.0

his compact 4-track sequencer has 64 pads for direct access to the individual steps, but you have to make do with fewer controls than with the Beatstep Pro or an analog step sequencer like the Korg SQ-1. The SQ-64 is primarily designed as the control center for an analog hardware setup and modular systems, as a glance at the lushly equipped rear panel featuring 19 analog outputs in eurorack-friendly 3.5mm jack design shows. For each of the three melody tracks, there is a CV/Gate output and an additional Mod output; for the drum track, SQ-64 offers eight trigger outputs, each with its own status LED for visualizing outgoing signals.
