ADB last caught up 26-year-old Kiwi Courtney Duncan in 2019, fresh off winning her firstever Women's World Motocross Championship after years of setbacks.

She's still the same laid-back, humble woman with a ready laugh and a plenty of time for a chat, but her stock has risen astronomically. The Big Van World MTX Kawasaki racer has had her name etched into three WMX World Championship trophies, and came into 2022 as the white-hot favourite to claim her fourth in a row.

As Duncan knows all too well, racing is a cruel mistress with no favourites. Four weeks after the season started, her 2022 campaign came to a sudden end, crashing during free practice and breaking her collarbone, ruling her out of two of the championship's five rounds.
