As I rolled into base camp for the fifth and final VIP Experience ride of 2022, the trailriding gods were smiling on Ben Grabham yet again. In a sodden year that has seen rain gauges full across the eastern states, Grabbo and his crew managed to get only blue skies for every single ride. In fact, the locals were calling Grabbo the Sun God because every time he'd turn up, he'd bring the sunshine.
Two days after the fourth VIP Experience ride in October, the exact spot where we rode was covered in two inches of snow. It seems all the weather turns up between VIP Experience rides and I would expect so, this is the VIP Experience after all and anything sub-par would not be very VIP now would it. But for the first time this year, the fifth VIP Experience had some dust! I'd almost forgotten what dust tasted like.
