Frances comes from a lineage of artists and designers. Her grandfather is the late Lucian Freud, Bella Freud is her aunt and her grandma, Suzy Boyt, loved to paint watercolours. “She could draw so well and so quickly and always captured the charm,” Frances tells us, adding, “I have seen my grandfather’s work around the world. It was exciting seeing his show in Vienna or being in New York and seeing a big nude in the Met”. Her husband, Nick Jensen, is also a painter. She says she wants her work to be more than art, “playful pieces for the home that bring joy”.
Frances is mostly self-taught, but she has taken short courses in ceramics. “I actually studied politics at university. However, I always drew and made things. I’m really interested in gardening at the moment and am learning about landscape design.” She launched her own brand in 2017, shortly after her first child was born, “I finally had time to create and think and make”, and is now a mother of two.
