Exploring the ancient culture and history of a fascinating and beautiful country

Morocco is a land that evokes intrigue and anticipation, yet simultaneously raises questions about its viability for touring, despite being a mere 30 miles from Spain. So how easy is it to take a motorhome across to Morocco and how safe is it to explore there? With many of us looking to extend our travel possibilities, could this attractive country offer us a Schengen Shuffle option for a bit of winter sun?

In January 2020, after four years of full-time touring Europe in our Pilote 740c, we decided it was time to venture further afield, embarking on our boldest road trip yet.

Given our visions of overland adventures in South America and across the eastern Silk Route, cutting our teeth in Morocco seemed to be an important initiation. But before we could get excited about Morocco’s mystery, some planning was required.
