“THIS HAT incorporates colourful wedges against a dramatic black background,” explains designer Sandra Nesbitt. “Worked in a self-striping rainbow yarn, it really pops with colour.” Sandra’s design uses ColourLab DK, which comes in 22 solid and seven striped options. The hat is worked in brioche stocking stitch with bands of purl creating the undulating effects. The crown shaping is incorporated into the purl sections, so there are no complicated brioche decreases to do.

SPECIAL TECHNIQUES
