It’s 7am, ready your chariots boys! After last year’s successful trip to Mersea Island Scooter Rally, the Hull Drifters had decided to travel back down to Essex for the superb event again.

We took a scenic route across the Lincolnshire Wolds, down past RAF Coningsby, along the seven-mile straight and on to the A17; a change of direction at King’s Lynn to Bury St Edmunds, then across to Sudbury. With a few fuel stops and only one repair (a snapped clutch cable) it was over the causeway to Mersea Island.
