Although Richard made his name with the GT186 kit, it’s the GT240 and 250 conversions that cemented his reputation for building bombproof touring engines. Inthe GT200 kit, the extra 10 ccs of the 250 coming from a 64mm crank, a 1mm head gasket and a shortened piston. Dependent upon the type of exhaust fitted the 250 typically produces bhp figures in the mid to high 20s but at a comparatively ‘lazy’ rpm.
