Alicia Cornwell’s work is inspired by decorative florals and still-life painting. Her works incorporate her love of vintage and antique items, floral botanicals and the environment around her. “I love experimenting with the patterns of the fabrics and the way they contrast against still-life compositions,” she shares. “I use the floral scenery around me as inspiration, as well as the antiques I have collected over the years. I especially love the old fabrics and vintage sheets and the way they flow and move. I spend a lot of time researching my works. I use whatever flowers are in season and I look at what fabrics work well. I map everything out.
