Google’s top 2022 trends

FINDING information has never been easier – thanks to Google, the whole world is literally at our fingertips. Once a year the search engine compiles a report of the year’s most-searched terms. We look at what people googled most in the past 12 months.

UKRAINE AND QUEEN ELIZABETH IN THE NEWS

The news event most people searched for on Google in 2022 was the war in Ukraine, which started in February when Russia invaded the eastern European country. The death of Britain’s longest reigning monarch, QUEEN ELIZABETH II, who passed away on 8 September after ruling for 70 years, was a close second.
