Memory play

With reference to Vladimir Lyubovny’s quote in Soundbytes, E377, I have no idea what the 100 greatest moments in my life are – beyond the obvious ones like getting married and becoming a parent.

However, I do remember hours of laughter (and the odd punch) playing Chaos on the ZX Spectrum with my brothers. The noises, smells and general excitement from wandering around arcades as a teenager looking for OutRun or Gauntlet. How blown away I was when my then-girlfriend bought me a PS1 for Christmas; and how much she loved it when she thrashed me at Tekken 3 on our honeymoon. The cheers after my clan’s first online win on Rainbow Six. The banter and anticipation outside shops at countless midnight launches for new consoles.
