Warriors prop happy to go with the Flo

WHEN FLORENCE Long heard that her mum’s breast cancer needed chemotherapy, the prop told her: “I’m going to shave my hair off with you.”

Long’s mum, Bristol Bears safeguarding officer Clare Brophy, suggested they create a Crowdfunder for Macmillan Cancer Support to raise money while shaving their heads. The 22-year-old Worcester Warriors star created one before a training session, with £100 to £500 in mind as a target. After training, she checked and it was at almost £2,000.

“I had to up it and nearly every day after that,” Long tells . “I didn’t want to set my sights too high.”
