LETTER OF THE WEEK

Tribute to Nick Fisher

I was saddened to hear the news of the passing of Nick Fisher. Nick wrote some cracking articles for this great magazine, in particular one on the Waterloo Cup, the magnificent hare-coursing event that was once held in February each year at the Altcar Estate — until the treacherous Labour Party banned the event through lies and smear campaigns. It was a brilliant article that captured the essence of the event.

Nick not only wrote articles and books but programme, which attracted anglers and non-anglers alike. I enjoyed his articles. He will be sadly missed.
