A marketing tie-in with the James Bond franchise is something of a coup, and for Britain-based Bowers & Wilkins it’s more than a random badging; there’s a genuine connection. The company’s 800 Series speakers are famously installed in Abbey Road recording studios, used to monitor the recording of not only music but countless film scores — including Skyfall, Spectre, and the recent Bond 25 album of 007 themes by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, mixed in Dolby Atmos.

With Bond tie-ins most famously associated with the like of luxury Omega watches and Aston Martin cars (though more recently BMW), it must have seemed a fine choice for a special edition of Bowers & Wilkins’ latest range-topping and breathtakingly-priced Px8 headphone, which launched in Australia
