There was an initial disappointment here, because we’d been hoping this soundbar would arrive in red. We’d been told they were coming in red, and we ran news last issue telling you they were coming in red.
But it turns out not. Instead the little SR-C20 compact soundbar ($279) has come to Australia with red and white colour options. When we reviewed that little bar-only solution a year ago we labelled it a minor miracle. And now in red: nice. The new SR-C30A, however, is coming to Australia in black onlv.
It doesn’t much matter: soundbars are probably better in black, while for some strange reason, few people choose to buy red hi-fi anyway, even if it looks great in a shop window (or a magazine). So we got over our disappointment in the oring black and started untucking tabs from the fairly compact Yamaha delivery box, which includes, in this case, a wireless Subwoofer to work in concert with the compact bar.
