Like Clara and Mina, car collector Richard Amuso wanted something different. The Staten Island, N.Y., enthusiast desired a car underrepresented in today’s hobby and became interested in a Detroit Electric because they are unique. Early electric vehicles are not easily found in classified ads or on the internet, so Amuso took to calling museums. In the summer of 2012, he found a 1923 Model 90 coupe available from the Antique Auto Museum in Coralville, Iowa. Although it ran, the Detroit Electric was not exactly the bee’s knees
