Winter can leave skin dry and flaky, and a heavy matte foundation will only make matters worse. Freshen up your foundation with something lighter and more radiant, infused with added skincare ingredients to cheat a fresh, healthy glow in an instant.

‘Perfect foundation application is all about prepping skin,’ says Caroline Barnes, Max Factor’s make-up artist and UK ambassador. ‘It’s important to really feel your face, assessing its needs. On some days it may need different things – one day it might be dehydrated, one day it might be oily – so understand and treat your skin before thinking about make-up.’ If it’s dry, add a nourishing moisturiser like – you can feel your skin drinking it up as you apply, leaving it feeling which uses vitamin C to help brighten skin.
