Sharing the planet with 8 billion

ON 15 NOVEMBER 2022 the global population hit 8 billion, according to the United Nations. Staggeringly, it’s taken just 48 years, from 1974, for it to double from 4 billion. Although Australia’s population of almost 26 million accounts for only about 1/320th of the global total, we have one of the highest rates of population growth among developed nations.
