And while her fans are still grieving, they’ve also been gifted with a brand new way to experience her worlds and characters with the birth of AMC’s Immortal Universe.
Launched in October last year with the series adaptation of Interview With The Vampire, which received both audience and critical acclaim, the interconnected universe based on her mythology continues in January with Mayfair Witches.
Based on Rice’s Lives Of The Mayfair Witches trilogy, the series stars Alexandra Daddario as Dr Rowan Fielding, a San Francisco-based neurosurgeon who discovers her relation to an ancient, powerful coven of witches now based in New Orleans.
It’s a story steeped in tradition, legacy and destiny, which demanded just the right hands to guide it into a nuanced adaptation. And in this case, maybe even a little divine connection, as creators/showrunners Michelle Ashford and Esta Spalding tell that they both spent time in New Orleans
