“I love my garden and to be able to share it with others gives me enormous pleasure”
Not so long ago, Helen Brown was in her one-and-a-half-acre garden in Devon when a University of the Third Age (u3a) group arrived for a visit. One lady in the group was a textile artist. She spent a happy time exploring the garden and at the end of her visit sought out Helen to tell her how much the garden had inspired her. “She was absolutely buzzing with excitement, and it was joyous to see,” Helen recalls. “She said to me: ‘Your colours! The textures! Everything! I just want to go home and create something.’”
Two weeks later she sent Helen an email with pictures she had taken of the garden with the National Garden Scheme.
