Blood and Battle: Dissecting the Life of William Beatty

A new display at the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich is marking 200 years since the renowned naval surgeon Sir William Beatty was appointed‘s cockpit and experience the grisly sights, sounds and smells of a nautical medical bay. It also showcases a replica of Lord Nelson's life mask, Beatty's medical chest, and a range of surgical instruments used to treat those maimed in battle during the 18th and 19th centuries.
