Improve the System, Not Overhaul It

Although the jury is still out on this subject, to me it seems like a 10-point grading system could simply add more confusion to an already confused populace. If this were to come to be, then it should be based on a consensus of the entire numismatic community, rather than a-’s, making it at least a 30-point system, not unlike grading trading cards. If they eventually go to double +’s and -’s or triple, then it could become a 60- or 90-point system.
