OUR TOP 10 EASY-GROW FRUIT

APPLES

There is such an amazing variety of apples available in the catalogues – from heritage ones with intriguing names such as the cooker ‘Catshead’ to modern dessert apples such as eater ‘Falstaff’, all with their own distinct flavour. By selecting varieties that ripen at different times you can be picking from late August to November and with a range of rootstocks there is a tree to fit even the smallest garden. If possible, visit a local apple day and try a range of apples before choosing a variety to plant.
