WHEN I last reported on the XJ8 in our December issue, I had only recently been reunited with the car, which after its Covid-interrupted repaint had been passed around between staffers with the ‘to-do’ list gradually lengthening.
I mentioned in my last report that the sunglasses holder had been damaged for the umpteenth time, a Blu-Tac repair having signally failed to prevent it flopping open and obscuring the mirror. Luckily, I’d already ordered the required catch (it’s also used in Brabantia ‘touch top’ kitchen bins) but a
