As you will have read in Heritage Commercials last month, John Booth asked editor Charlie Waters if he could be put in touch with Ken and Ray Walsh. He wanted to know if they’d be up for restoring an Austin K8 Three Way van. He’d owned two – one for well over 30 years. Both were almost beyond redemption.
The Walshes agreed to take the project on. Work began at the beginning of October. “John Booth wanted to know how we were getting on,” reports Ken Walsh. “Being awkward so-and-sos, he was told he’d have to wait and see until this issue of the magazine was out.”
John’s been recovering from a knee operation – driving up to Manchester to see for himself was out of the question. As will be evident from this second instalment, progress has been phenomenal.
