ttawa-born Joan she sings with many voices. She coined the expression a long time ago to describe the difference between what she felt was her one voice as an opera singer, and the freedom and abundant richness of her life as a teacher. On any given day, you might find this powerhouse on her way to Philadelphia or New York to teach at the Curtis Institute, Bard College or the Manhattan School of Music. She is a woman in sync with our time: blogging on her website, and appearing in YouTube videos in a series she created during the pandemic.
