Making Modernism
at the Royal Academy of Arts, London until 12 February explores the work of pioneering women artists working in Germany in the early 1900s, including Paula Modersohn-Becker, Kathe Kollwitz, Gabriele Münter and Marianne Werefkin. The exhibition brings together 65 works by these lessfamiliar artists, many of which have not been seen before in the UK, covering such subjects as self-portraiture, still life, the female body, depictions of childhood, landscapes and urban scenes.
