IS IT MORALLY RIGHT TO SEND WEAPONS INTO A CONFLICT?

SYMON: I will never judge someone in an extreme situation for picking up a weapon in desperation. This is quite different to people outside of a situation sending weapons into it.

I am opposed to this for three reasons. Firstly, because these calls to supply weapons generally involve allying with one militarist regime against another. There have been people calling on the US, UK, Germany and so on to send more weapons to Ukraine. The revulsion that we feel at Putin’s invasion should not lead us to back NATO, who are arguably just as committed as Putin to militarism.

Secondly, suppliers of weapons have no control over
