Australian Helicopter Operators deliver Community Aid

The east coast of Australia has experienced some of the largest rainfalls seen in many years, thanks to a La Niña event which transports high levels of moisture from the ocean into the atmosphere which intern turns into rain. With Flooding events in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania local helicopter operators have tasked by local emergency agencies to bring on their contracted and non-contracted machines to assist with the transport, logistics and even flood evaluation and rescues needed by the communities affected.

This urgent need for airlift has seen many companies across the states and territories bring online types which would normally have been getting ready for their fire contract work being deployed on other operations much earlier than expected.

The high tempo of operations has seen operators including Kestrel Aviation, Microflite, Helitreck, Sydney Helicopters, Paton Air/HeliCarrier, V2 Helicopters, Fleet Helicopters and Coulson Aviation among the commercial operators whom have either been tasked by local emergency agencies or have even gone at it alone to assist locals whom have been cut
