Once considered huge for a TV, the 40-43in category has come to be thought of as small in recent years and has been rather neglected by manufacturers as a result. Samsung has done better than most, last year launching its near-flagship, Mini LED-backlit QN90A at 43in. This TV proved very popular, particularly with gamers. And while the QN90B is very similar to its predecessor, there is a difference this time. Samsung’s top 43in TV is now up against the very first 42in OLEDs – the LG 42C2 and Sony 42A90K that follow this review.
There is something a bit monitor-like about the design of the 43QN90B, which has slightly different and marginally less satisfying proportions than its 55in-plus siblings. That isn’t to say that this isn’t a handsome TV in its own right. The QN90B is satisfyingly slim, at 2.7cm, and the
