Blast Beats‘ sound generation is based on the old Yamaha OPL3 chip (YMF262). This chip is a complete FM synth with a large number of customizable parameters, but at the time they were only accessible to programming geeks. With Blast Beats it‘s different: With lots of faders you can tweak the sounds directly and the sequencer is up to date with features such as parameter lock and random functions.
