Stack up appliances to save on space
If your home is on the small side, consider stacking appliances instead of housing them side by side. A stacked arrangement can easily be slotted neatly into a cupboard. For safety, use a stacking device that will keep appliances secure, with the dryer positioned on top of the washing machine.
