NOAA Study to Explore Recreational Fishing in Hawai‘i

■ We know that recreational fishing is important to you, and that recreational fishing is a key economic driver in coastal areas across the United States. In Hawai‘i, recreational fishing encompasses a wide range of motivations that also include non-commercial, subsistence and traditional fishing practices. To measure its economic importance, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Fisheries is surveying Hawai‘i non-commercial anglers in 2022 about their expenditures on private-boat and shore-based marine fishing trips.
